AGADEZ CATWALK

Agadez, "gateway to the desert." It was in this city, battered by the dry Saharan wind, that the Nigerian designer Alphadi decided to return to his roots. Twenty years ago, he embarked on a daring venture, organizing a major fashion festival a few kilometers away, amidst the dunes, bringing together African, Japanese, and European designers. Thus, under tight security, the vibrant African fashion community gathered for two days in the city that gave birth to FIMA (Festival International de la Mode en Afrique), the oldest fashion festival on the continent.

Agadez, « porte du désert ». C'est dans cette ville battue par le vent sec du Sahara que le créateur nigérien Alphadi a décidé d'un retour aux sources. Il y a vingt ans, il se lançait dans un pari fou en organisant à quelques kilomètres de là, un grand festival de mode au milieu des dunes, rassemblant créateurs africains, japonais et européens. C'est donc sous haute protection que la joyeuse famille de la mode africaine s'est retrouvée pour deux jours dans la ville qui a vu naître le FIMA (Festival International de la Mode en Afrique), plus vieux festival de mode du continent.
